Unfortunately, the youth often find themselves recruited by criminal syndicates that endanger their lives and the communities they live in, or fall victim to drug abuse.
Therefore, the career expo and follow-up workshops will provide a comprehensive platform for skill development (in financial literacy, ICT training, Mental health improvement/empowerment techniques, HIV prevention literacy, skills for building successful careers and life after matric), career guidance, and continuous support. The youth career expo will significantly improve the prospects of young people living in the townships and surrounding communities, fostering a sense of empowerment, resilience, and readiness for the future, ensuring they are well-prepared for life beyond grade 12.
